This film explores how a traditional indigenous story is translated from an oral story into a performance involving dance, puppetry, music and voice. By collecting interviews with the key people in the project the documentary examines the process of creating such a performance, layering interviews behind actual footage collected during the performance, rehearsals and meetings. Important issues such as correctly interpreting Dreaming Stories will be explained by aboriginal elders. The conversion of an oral story into performance will also be explained by those involved. This film can be used as a tool by any community group to bring together ideas and the right people to create original performance.
