This film is an unbelievable look at America's homelessness crisis on constant display in Los Angeles' 5-block radius dubbed "Skid Row". International music sensation Pras Michel (1/3 of the Grammy Award winning hip hop group The Fugees) chose to explore this topic as few would do -- he lived on the streets of Skid Row for nine days as a homeless person.
His journey to understand the plight of the faceless, nameless street nomads saw him stripped of his Hollywood celebrity persona to struggle for food, shelter and a harsh daily existence.
Praskazrel Samuel Michel, known as Pras is a two-time Grammy-winning American rapper, best known as one of the founding members of the critically acclaimed hip hop group, The Fugees.
The experience of living on the street inspired Pras to launch prAsperity project in May 2007. prAsperity project is a non-profit organization that jump-starts awareness and solutions for intractable problems affecting the human condition.
“He's done something significant and substantial in terms of awareness of people who, for all their addictions and self-abuse, are still human beings. But despite the earthbound angels we see working with them every day, the tragic takeaway from this can be a hopeless doubt that it will ever change.” - Frank Lovelace, Film Journal International
