London's V&A has one of the world's finest collections of Islamic art from the Middle East. Among its 10,000 objects are the Ardabil Carpet, made in 16th-century Iran, one of the largest and finest carpets in existence, and an exquisite rock crystal ewer from 11th-century Egypt. From the summer of 2006 these treasures will be displayed in a dazzling new gallery conceived to increase awareness and appreciation of Islamic art.

The story behind the new Jameel Gallery of Islamic Art is told in a unique film following its creation fromthe first designs and curatorial research trips to Asia, through an 18-month tour of the collection to the United States and Japan to the final hectic days leading up to the glittering opening. The second documentary in this 2-DVD set is an Introduction to Islamic Art, highlighting the beauties and complexities of many of the V&A collection's greatest objects and including glorious location filming in Iran.

The Victoria and Albert Museum in London is the world's largest museum of applied and decorative arts and design, as well as sculpture, housing a permanent collection of over 2.27 million objects. It was founded in 1852 and named after Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.
