This film includes maps, drawings and 3D reconstructions of the various facets of the Parthenon of the 5th, 6th century and the Golden Age of Pericles. It looks at the erection of the sanctuary and the frieze and the marble procession of the great Panathenaea.
The film traces the birth of Athena on the eastern pediment and the contest between Athena and Poseidon on the western pediment. It looks at the metopes with the Trojan war, the battle of the Athenians with the Amazons and the battle of the Centaurs and the Gigantomachy.
